In 1932, Sam Gould opened a small hair salon in Memphis, Tennessee. His dream was to provide his clientele with a truly professional and unique fashion experience. Sam envisioned a chic, upscale ambiance, which was considered a Hollywood luxury at the time.
The Legacy
Sam’s vision was realized as his salons, and his name became a recognized signature in Memphis. Gould’s evolved and expanded, adding locations throughout the Greater Memphis area and was eventually passed on to his sons Philip and David, who carry on his legacy of fine service and commitment to providing a unique, fashion-forward experience.
Gould’s opened its first Spa in 1998, extending services from complete hair care to total body care. A complete menu of services at each Salon-Spa location offers a range of body treatments, massages, facials, nail care, and Medi-Spa services.
Gould's Today
Nearly a century after the first salon opened its doors, Gould’s has the distinction of being the oldest multi-location Salon Spa in the industry. Between our Salon Spa locations and Luxe Salon Suites we employ and serve over 300 individuals, and through Gould’s Academy, we educate and inspire the next generation.
We are grateful for the families and communities that have supported us for so many years, and as a local, family-owned business we remain exclusive to Memphis and the Mid-South.
